Godzilla fans pay homage to Godzilla’s iconic nemesis with their very unique Mechagodzilla costume.
This Halloween This year, this Halloween, a Godzilla costume honors the famed franchise.

Kai-Zilla (or @dr_kaju) posted a photo of the costume on their Twitter page. Kai-Zilla donned the costume at G-Fest (also known as Godzilla Fest), an annual event that is centered around Godzilla, and other franchises in the Kaiju genre. In three photos, Kai-Zilla is also seen standing next to his father dressed as TARS. The robot, which is not humanoid, was used in the 2014 science fiction movie Interstellar directed by Christopher Nolan.

Mechagodzilla became an iconic staple of the Godzilla franchise after his debut in the film, Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla produced by Jun Fukuda. The plot of the film revolved around Godzilla’s showdown with the titan made of metal after aliens created it to use it to help them invade Earth. Mechagodzilla now appears in a variety of animated and live-action films, including Godzilla: City on the Edge of Battle (2018), Godzilla: Tokyo S.O.S (2003), Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla II (1993), and Godzilla vs. Kong (2021), among others. The character was also featured in the science fiction novel Ready Player One which was written by Ernest Cline and its titular 2018 film adaptation with the direction of Steven Spielberg.
The 2002 movie Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla produced by Maasaki Tezuka, made its U.S. theatrical debut on November. 3, which is recognized internationally as “Godzilla Day.” This one-day screening that was held in more than 450 theaters across the country, fans got the chance to watch the original Japanese version of the film that included English subtitles, as well as a never-before-seen featurette. On the same day, Godzilla people who went to G-Fest also got to see the premiere of the short film Godzilla Fest Gigan Attack, directed by Kazuhiro Nakagawa ( Godzilla vs. Hedorah). Nakagawa created the short film in honor of the 50th anniversary of Godzilla Vs. Gigan was directed by Jun Fukuda.

Godzilla Fans received a plethora of Good News

Toho has confirmed a new Godzilla movie is in development. Takashi Yamazaki worked on the last Toho Godzilla film Shin Godzilla and will be the movie’s director. The movie, which has yet to be given a title or working title, is scheduled to release in November. 3 2023. The sequel to Legendary Pictures’ Godzilla vs. Kong is also filming and is scheduled for the release date of March 15, 2024.
