A lover of the hugely popular franchise JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure has recreated the “Approaching Me” meme, cosplaying Jotarokujo and Dio Brando.
The image was posted by the cosplayer known as Seanpai Senpai on their Twitter account. Seanpai Senpai (@seanpaisen) tweeted that this picture is among his tops and that JoJo is a huge motivation for him as he pursues fitness. In this picture, the meme is painstakingly recreated, not only through cosplay but also through the use of lighting that recreates the yellow hue of the original manga panel from which the meme was created.

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, based on Hirohiko Araki’s manga of the same name, has inspired many memes, including the “Oh you’re coming towards me?” meme, two others include the “Araki forgot!” Fans came up with the “Araki forgot!” meme in response to the many plot holes in the show. A different meme is “Yare Yare Daze” which is a term that is frequently used by Jotaro and roughly translates to “good grieving” (English). The JoJomanga is predicted to be sold out more than 120,000,000 copies by December 2021. The popularity of JoJomanga in meme culture speaks volumes.
JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure was first serialized in Weekly Shonen Jumpin 1987. The story begins in 19th Century England, with Jonathan Joestar. He is a young aristocrat who is battling Dio Brando. Dio, who was a low-income but ambitious man, has been taken in by Jonathan Joestar’s father. Dio Brando later stumbles upon the stone Aztec mask that has amazing supernatural powers, which is in possession and taken care of by the Joestar family. Motivated by the need to have power and be superior over the rest, Dio utilizes the powers of the Aztec artifact to become extremely powerful. The quest to stop Dio continues over several generations of the Joestar clan. Jotaro Kujo is the Joestar descendant in this cosplay. He is the main character of the third arc entitled Stardust Crusaders.
