The Flash Writer Hints at the Reappearance of DC’s Classic Super Sons

Jeremy Adams, the writer of both The Flash ongoing series and DC’s animated Super Sons movie, teases that the speedster and his sidekicks will cross paths.

Jeremy Adams, Flash writer has suggested that a Super Sons crossover is being planned for the series.

On Twitter, the author requested fans to respond “Who wants to see a picture from The Flash#797]?” continuing in another tweet, “It’s one of the first photos [artist Serg Acuna] emailed me to me.” Written by Adams and illustrated by Acuna and due out in April 2023. Flash #797 is slated to be a “super-speed misadventure” that happens when Kid Flash/Wallace West babysits Jai and Irey West, the children of Flash Wally West. In an unreported tweet, but still available on Instagram at the time of writing, Adams shared artwork of Superboy Jon Kent and Robin Damian Wayne and Robin Damian Wayne, which indicates that the two kids of Super Sons will make an appearance in the upcoming Flash issue.

An animated DC film featuring the Super Sons and starring The Super Sons

Adams is familiar with Super Sons. The first Super Sons comic book series came out in the year 2017. Adams wrote the animated film Batman & Superman: Battle of the Super Sons which came out in 2022. The film follows Clark Kent’s son Jon and his friend Batman/Bruce Wayne’s, Damian, to stop Starro the Conqueror from taking over Earth.

It remains to be determined, however, which version of Super Sons will appear in The Flash #797. The issue’s solicitation says “It’s an extremely fast and exciting adventure watching babysitting while Flash observes Jai, Irey, and some new acquaintances from across time and space!” Ace must return Maxine as well as the twins Maxine from a sleepover that went wrong. There are many possibilities of who these Super Sons might be. They may be Jon or Damian’s younger versions from the comic DC Universe or the same versions that Adams used in Battle of the Super Sons.

DC Reboots the Flash’s Solo Series

Adams has already shown a willingness to travel between time and the Multiverse during his run on The Flash. His first arc sent Wally West on a Quantum Leap-like trip through the bodies and speeders. When he finally landed the hero in the Super Friends cartoon world, he was able to continue his run on em>The Flash/em>. Adams is running out of time to create the FlashSuper Sons / Super Sons crossover in the current issue since Flash #800 is the conclusion of his series. The Flash will be revived in September 2023 with Simon Spurrier as a writer and Mike Deodato as an artist.

Along with Adams Acuna, Adams, and others, Flash #797 includes main and variant covers designed by Taurin Clarke as well as variant covers created by Yasmin Flores Montenez, Daniele Di Nicuolo, and Francis Manapul. The issue is available on April 18 from DC Comics.
